Dialogue 

Arivia      : “Excuse me. May I speak with you two for a while ?

Ghilman   : “Oh no, not at all.”

Arivia      : “Thank you. Actually we are English learner, and we want to practice our English.”

Ade          : “Okay, no problem. Please be at ease with us.”

Uliya        : “We want to ask you guys some questions if you don’t mind. Are you ready ?”

Ade          : “Yeah, sure. Whenever you are.”

Uliya        : “Okay. Oh I almost forget. We haven’t introduce ourselves yet. Silly me. I’m Uliya by the way, and this is Arivia.”

Arivia      : “That’s me, and you guys are…?”

Ade          : “Oh, I’m Ade, and this is my friend Ghilman.”

Uliya        : “Okay, Ade and Ghilman. Let’s start this thing over. Where do you guys come from ?”

Ghilman   : “we are from Seattle, USA.”

Arivia      : “Seattle ? What a nice place ! I always hope I could go there someday. It’s my favorite place.”

Ghilman   : “Really ? That’s great ! Maybe you can visit my place then. LOL !!’”

Arivia      : “yeah, that would be nice. So how long have you been in Indonesia ?”

Ade          : “mmm.. about 2 weeks or so. But we’re in here since two days ago.”

Uliya        : “have you ever been here before ?”

Ghilman   : “This is my second time actually, but for my friend here, this is her first time.”

Ade          : “Yep. This is my first time. And I’ve already in love with this beautiful country.”

Uliya        : “What brings you come here ?”

Ade          : “Well, I’ve heard a lot about Indonesia from my friends that have been visited, and they told me about how beautiful Indonesia is. So I kind of very curious and want to prove by myself. And now here I am, totally mezmerize by the beauty.”

Arivia      : “So you admit it now, huh ?”

Ghilman   : “Yaa, exactly.”

Uliya        : “So what places or region have you visited in Indonesia before ?”

Ghilman   : “We have visited several places like Jakarta and Yogyakarta.”

Arivia      : “What do you think about those places ?”

Ade          : “it’s really cool. We’ve visited amazing tourism places.”

Arivia      : “What place do you like the most ?”

Ade          : “Well, for me it was Yogyakarta. It has great and amazing temple relics, like Borobudur and Prambanan temple and also they have brearhtaking scenery around them. I really like ancient things and nature by the way.”

Uliya        : “How do you like those places by the way ?”

Ade          : “The temples are awesome! Every relief and sculpture I see on every part of the temple is remarkable.

Ghilman   : “Yeah. This is one of the greatest cultural and historical inheritances that indonesian people have to maintain.

Uliya        : “Yeas, I agree with you. I feel proud you’re saying so.”

Arivia      : “Do you know about other Indonesian cultures ?”

Ghilman   : “Yes, but not too much. I surfed some things on the internet. Hehe”

Ade          : “Actually, I have been studying about Indonesian cultures lately, before I came to Indonesia.”

Uliya        : “And what do you think about my people’s cultures ?”

Ade          : “Indonesian cultures are completely unique and interesting. According to my knowledge, Indonesian tribes and ethnics consist of over than one thousand tribes and every tribe has its own cultures and customs. That was really amazing! Wow!”

Arivia      : “Yeah, that’s really true.”

Ade          : “I also read that Indonesia has a few of indigenous tribes such as dayak, Asmat, Mentawai, ect. And those tribes generally isolate themselves from outside world since they want to keep maintaning their pure cultures and customs.”

Arivia      : “Wow, you know much about Indonesian culures, ya!?”

Uliya        : “And apparently, you know better than I do. Ckck!”

Ade          : “Haha.. not really. I still have a lot to learn.”

Uliya        : “Okay then, since you guys here for 2 weeks already, what’s your impression about Indonesian people ?”

Ghilman   : “Well I think the are really nice, warm, and very welcoming. They are good people.”

Arivia      : “Are you happy visiting Indonesia ?”

Ade          : “Of course!! Why wouldn’t I be ? I’m really happy and excited. I think we will stay longer to know more about this remarkable country.”

Ghilman   : “Yeah. I really want to visit other places.”

Uliya        : “That’s great.!”

Arivia      : “So, where will you go after here ? Do you have plans for the next destination ?”

Ghilman   : “Well, I’m still not sure. Do you guys have any suggestions ?”

Arivia      : “Well if you ask me about my oppinion, I would suggest you to go to Banyuwangi. It also has so much beautiful places.”

Uliya        : “Yeah, and that is the place where we’re come from actually. :D”

Ghilman   : “Really ? So, can you tell us more about your place ?”

Ade          : “Yes, tell us!! Are there any places that so worth to be seen ? oh I’m really anxious.!”

Arivia      : “Of course! Banyuwangi also has breathtaking beaches like Bali and also beatiful scenery.”

Uliya        : “And have grat waves that worth to surf.”

Ghilman   : “Wow! Really ? what is the best place to surf then ?”

Uliya        : “do you like surfing ?”

Ghilman   : “Oh don’t ask. Surfing is my life..”

Ade          : “haha.. that’s true. He’s really crazy in surfing things.

Arivia      : “Well you better go to Red Island beach, this place is really great to surf, nice place, nice waves, oh it’s really great.”

Ade          : “Well I think we can go there for the next destination”

Uliya        : “And guys, you knnow what, there is International Surfing Competition in Red Island, it was held by the local government to promote the place and the other tourism destinations. It held every year.”

Ade          : “That’s cool! I really want to go to Banyuwangi.”

Ghilman   : “Yeah. Me too..”

Ade          : “Oh and the good thing is, as you guys come from Banyuwangi, Ithink you can be our tour guide. Well if you guys don’t mind of course.”

Arivia      : “haha.. I think that’s a good idea.”

Uliya        : “Yeah. It will be nice. When do you plan to go ?”

Ghilman   : “We’re here until 2 days forward. So I think we can leave on Sunday.”

Arivia      : “Cool. We’re planning to go back to Banyuwangi on that day too. So we can go together then.”

Ade          : “Okay, that’s really nice.”

Uliya        : “Well, I think we’ve agreed on this. And unfortunately, we’ve got to go now. It was really nice meeting you all. Thank you so much for sharing your time with us.”

Arivia      : “I hope we didn’t bother your precious time.”

Ade          : “Nah, you didn’t. I’m happy to share.”

Arivia      : “Okay then, have a good day and see you on Sunday.”

Ghilman   : “Yes, that’s cool. See ya !!”

Uliya        : “Bye guys.”

Ade          : “Byeee!!! Keep smilling..”
